Guidance for attending outpatient appointments during Covid-19

25th November 2020

Due to Covid-19, the following restrictions are in place in Belfast Trust outpatients departments:

Contact the outpatients department for advice before travelling to your appointment if you have:

    • any symptoms of Covid-19 such as:
      • recent onset of a new, continuous cough
      • high temperature
      • loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
    • been told you have tested positive for Covid-19
    • a household member who has symptoms of Covid-19 or tested positive for Covid-19
    • been told to self-isolate by the ‘Track and Trace’ service or received a notification from the StopCovidNI app to self-isolate
    • travelled from Denmark in the last 14 days

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after attending the hospital, and use the hand sanitiser gel provided.

Outpatients should attend alone. However, a patient can be accompanied by one person if there are carer needs. Waiting space is extremely limited in the departments.

Please stick to your appointment time and do not arrive early.

Observe social distancing when attending your appointment.

All patients and visitors are required to wear face coverings on Belfast Trust sites.
