Did you know if your skin has gone red in the sun it is sunburnt? Sunburn does not have to be raw, peeling or blistering.

Statistics show that the number of people in Northern Ireland attending Emergency Departments with sunburn is on the rise.

Sunburn is an outward sign of ultraviolet damage to the skin and can lead to skin cancers

Sunburn can happen in Northern Ireland – it’s not just in hotter countries that we can get sunburnt – in fact most cases of sunburn happen when people are not trying to sunbathe, but are engaged in some activity such as; gardening , outdoor sports, working outdoors, walking or cycling.
