Belfast Trust, in partnership with Belfast City Council, the Public Health Agency and Northern Regional College are offering a course on Introduction to Loneliness and Isolation Experienced by Older People for free. The course will be delivered by Northern Regional College.
These half-day and one-day interactive training courses are aimed at staff and volunteers, in healthcare and non-healthcare roles, who are directly engaging with older people in the Belfast Trust area.
Half day courses
Delivered online: Wednesday 15 November, from 1pm to 5pm
Full day courses
Delivered Virtually: Wednesday 22 November, from 9.30am to 4pm
In person: Wednesday 29 November 2023, from 9.30am to 4pm taking place at Springfield Charitable Association
In person: Thursday 30 November 2023, from 9.30am to 4pm taking place at Girdwood Community Hub
The course content will explain:
- Loneliness and social isolation
- Why it is important to address loneliness
- What are the common causes of loneliness, triggers and effects of loneliness
- Where to find support including useful information and links
Register your interest in attending one of these courses by completing the survey. You will then receive a follow up email instructing if you have been offered a place or not.
This course is free to attend.
