Orchardville Training and Resource Centre is located in Finaghy, south Belfast. It is one of eight day centres within Belfast Trust for adults with learning disabilities who have additional support needs.
The centre:
- provides support to enable people to fulfil their potential
- helps people decide and plan how they wish to spend their day
Individuals can access opportunities and activities within the local community. Additional specialist support is available to enhance health and wellbeing.
The day centre is committed to listening and responding to the needs of each person who attends. Different tools and IT systems are used to improve communication skills. This enables people to make choices and, if possible, comment on the services provided.
Regular group and committee meetings take place, which enable people to shape and improve our services. Representatives also attend the Belfast Service User Forum, where they discuss issues and help develop services across the city for adults with learning disabilities.
Orchardville Training and Resource Centre has an active Parents and Carers Group. This group has a history of supporting the rights and improving the lives of people with learning disabilities in this part of Belfast.
