Hemsworth Court is a modern supported housing scheme for people living with dementia. It’s a partnership between Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and Radius Housing Group.
The facility provides 35 high quality apartments with a living room, kitchen and en suite bedroom. Each apartment is decorated as the tenant has requested. There are homely communal areas and a beautiful garden to combine comfort, independence and support.
The location offers privacy and is close to local amenities and public transport on the Shankill Road and in the city centre.
Care and support
At Hemsworth Court, each tenant is encouraged to remain independent and stay actively involved in all decisions about their health and wellbeing. Tenants can help choose regular social activities, from lunch clubs to gardening or attending movies. These activities:
- promote mental and physical wellbeing
- give tenants a chance to enjoy each other’s company
- keep them connected with the local community
- Belfast Trust staff provide 24 hour care and support according to each person’s assessed needs. This means each tenant can live independently in their own home.
A range of assistive technology is available to maintain the tenant’s safety within each flat. One and two bedroom flats are designed to accommodate a partner or carer.
