Beech Hall Day Centre is one of a range of day support services provided by Belfast Trust. Beech Hall provides day support for adults with physical and sensory disabilities who live in West Belfast and who are between the ages of 18 years and 65 years. The Centre is registered to provide a maximum of 35 day support places for adults between the ages of 18 years and 65 years who have learning, physical or sensory disabilities.
Beech Hall is committed to providing a high quality service to its service users by providing a therapeutic and stimulating environment which encourages and respects independence.
We are required to provide a targeted rehabilitation service to meet short-term needs of adults with a physical disability and long-term support for disabled people and their carers who require respite. In addition a range of options are made available to meet social, educational, recreational, pre-vocational and vocational needs of service users.
There are a range of services and activities provided at Beech Hall Day Centre. These services include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and music therapy. These are offered if need is assessed by the relevant professional.
Beech Hall Day Centre works in partnership with Belfast Metropolitan College to provide English and Numeracy classes. Art classes are also provided in partnership with Upper Springfield Development Trust.
There are a variety of outreach activities at Beech Hall Day Centre; these include ten pin blowing, Gym & Swimming sessions. Service users also enjoy going out for lunch or visiting exhibitions or local shopping centres.
Service users can learn or maintain skills in daily living e.g. shopping, budgeting, meal preparation, laundry etc.
The centre also has a quiet room that offers an opportunity for service users to relax in a settled and quiet environment.
