You get 27 days of annual leave when you join the Trust and another 10 days of statutory holidays. Your annual leave allowance increases after five years and again after 10 years, to a maximum of 33 days.
Car leasing scheme
We offer an attractive salary sacrifice car leasing scheme. This allows staff to access a car of their choice at a competitive price by automatically deducting a monthly contribution from their salary.
The Health and Social Care pension is an important and valuable benefit. You can opt in or out of the pension scheme at any time. The pension scheme provides an excellent package. You can get more information on the HSC pensions website.
Staff have the opportunity to apply for a number of flexible working arrangements. This allows staff to balance their work and home commitments and improve their quality of life. Currently, 95% of applications are approved.
B Well provides employees with support and information on a wide range of health and wellbeing issues in key themes, complimented by training programmes and a wide range of activities and events including the popular Here4U support service (see below).
Here4U offers staff an extensive range of free activities and events to support physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. Some of these activities take place each week. Others are organised on an irregular or one-off basis.
We provide an annual summer scheme across three venues. The summer scheme can accommodate 350 children for seven weeks in July and August. We offer early and late starts and pick-up times to suit staff shift patterns. The summer scheme is open to all Trust employees’ children aged between 4 and 13 years.
We offer excellent special leave for:
- marriage / civil partnership
- public service duties, for example jury service
We also offer unpaid leave where appropriate.
Travelling to work
Staff can benefit from a number of schemes that provide discounted:
- bicycles and safety equipment
- bus and train fares (see Translink aLink card below)
We also have a car-share scheme that is free to join.
All staff can join the Staff Services scheme, which offers a wide range of discounts.
Maternity information sessions
Staff who are pregnant, or who would like more information on pregnancy-related issues, can attend our maternity information sessions.
Long service leave
We give special recognition to staff who reach 25 years’ service in Health and Social Care by awarding one week of additional annual leave (pro rata).
Translink aLink card
Staff can reduce their Income Tax and National Insurance contributions by paying for bus and train travel directly from their salary. Staff can save 20 percent on annual bus and train fares through the aLink card scheme. Additional benefits include unlimited bus and train travel within Northern Ireland at weekends.
Bank of Ireland employment benefit scheme
Bank of Ireland offers better rates to staff on many of its products and services.
