Fallswater Day Centre is located in West Belfast. It is one of eight day centres within the Belfast Trust for Adults with Learning Disabilities and who have additional support needs.
Our Centre provides support to enable each service user to fulfil their potential and as far as possible and to decide and plan, how they wish to spend their day.
Where appropriate, individuals are able to access opportunities and activities within their local community. If required, additional specialist support can be accessed to enhance the individual’s health and wellbeing.
Fallswater Centre has a proactive service users group which has a long history of championing the rights and enhancing the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. Regular Group meetings take place which also enables each individual to shape the programme of activities on offer throughout the Centre.
Service user representatives also attend the citywide Service User’s Forum to discuss issues and help to further influence the development of services across Belfast.
Different tools and IT systems are used to enhance the communication skills of the individual. This enables him/her to make choices and if possible to comment on the services received.
Our experienced and trained staff team is committed to listening to and responding to the needs of each individual who attends the centre.
All staff working within the service must be registered with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council and this ensures the provision of a safe and effective service.
In addition staff must fully adhere to all relevant Policies and Procedures of the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and local guidelines.
Fallswater Centre is registered with the Regulation, Quality and Improvement Authority and receives an annual unannounced inspection.
