Amputee Rehabilitation Centre
The Amputee Rehabilitation Centre is based in the Regional Disablement Service at Musgrave Park Hospital. It is the regional centre for the assessment of patients who have had amputations or were born with absence of an arm or leg.
We offer an outpatient service and also an inpatient service with eight available beds. The amputee ward is based in Withers 1B at Musgrave Park Hospital. It is staffed by nurses with experience of caring for patients who have had an amputation.
All patients with major lower and upper limb loss should be referred to the Amputee Rehabilitation Centre.
We have a team of experts who provide advice and treatment. Our service is led by consultants in rehabilitation medicine and the team includes:
- specialist physiotherapists
- occupational therapists
- a clinical psychologist
- social workers
Most patients who have had an amputation will already have been referred to the Amputee Rehabilitation Centre.
Patients who have not been referred and wish to contact us should seek a referral from their GP.
