What the service does

The team at the Child and Family Clinic helps children and young people aged 14 years and under who are having problems with their mental health.

The first appointment at the Child and Family Clinic is an assessment. We talk to the child and their family about the problems. After this, we agree on a plan to help the child overcome their problems.

How to access the service

Any of the following people or services can refer a child or young person to the Child and Family Clinic:

  • GP
  • health visitor
  • children’s services
  • hospital service, for example Emergency Department
  • community nurse
  • educational welfare officer
  • school nurse
  • social worker
  • psychologist
  • community or voluntary organisation
  • charity

Location of service

The Child and Family Clinic is on the first floor of the Children’s Hospital.

Opening hours

  • Monday from 9am to 5pm
  • Tuesday from 9am to 9pm
  • Wednesday to Friday from 9am to 5pm
