The Community Children’s Nursing team provides a high level of specialist care to sick children in the community.
Working with children who have a wide range of acute nursing needs, chronic illness or complex healthcare requirements the aim of the team is to maintain and support the children and their parents in their own home.
The team work in special schools for children with a physical disability offering nursing services suitable to an individual child’s needs.
They also recruit and train healthcare assistants to provide support and care for children with complex needs in their own homes, thus providing necessary support and respite for parents and family members.
