What the service does

The community respiratory nursing service provides care for adults in north and west Belfast who have respiratory (breathing) conditions.

We treat conditions such as:

  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • pulmonary fibrosis
  • chronic asthma
  • bronchiectasis

We provide care for patients in their own homes and in clinics. This helps prevent unnecessary hospital visits.

The care we offer includes:

  • respiratory enhanced discharge
  • management of chronic disease
  • management of complex cases
  • palliative care

How to access the service

You must live in north or west Belfast and have a confirmed diagnosis of respiratory disease. Your referral should be related to your respiratory condition.

We accept referrals from:

  • hospitals
  • GPs
  • other healthcare professionals
