Diagnostic radiographers use a wide range of techniques to produce high quality images of injury or disease. The techniques used include:
- CT scan (computerised tomography)
- MRI scan (magnetic resonance imaging)
- ultrasound scan
- plain film
Our diagnostic radiographers often interpret the images they produce to ensure the correct treatment is provided.
Early diagnosis is very important for the treatment of many conditions. The diagnostic radiography team has a vital role to play in screening programmes, particularly cancer screening.
