What the service does

We provide assessment, treatment and interventions for young people (and their families) experiencing a first episode of psychotic illness.

We help young people:

  • get back to their normal routine
  • stay in education or employment
  • learn about the symptoms of their condition
  • manage their symptoms
  • build confidence through group activities and social networking

Who provides the service

The Early Intervention Team is made up of:

  • medical and nursing staff
  • occupational therapists
  • social workers
  • psychologists

How to access the service

We accept referrals from:

  • acute mental health services (usually through a GP)
  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
