What the service does
The Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children is the Regional Referral Centre for tertiary paediatric services in Northern Ireland and also serves as a local District General Hospital for the population.
Who provides the service
The team includes Consultant Paediatric Surgeons, Surgeons in Training, Specialty doctors and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Our team is supported by a team of nurses and a huge number of allied health professionals, who together deliver the highest quality paediatric surgical services to the region
How to access the service
A Doctor should first assess patients before a referral is made to our service. Referrals to the paediatric surgical team come from hospitals around N. Ireland, general practitioners and our own accident and emergency department in the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
