What the service does
The Sleep Service diagnoses and provides treatment for patients with sleep disordered breathing. The service is located at the Mater Hospital where we provide outpatient clinics and an inpatient service across all Belfast Trust sites.
The department currently cares for over 7000 CPAP patients and sets up almost 700 new CPAP patients every year.
Who provides the service
The Sleep Service team is co-led by two respiratory/sleep consultants who are supported by a respiratory nurse specialist, respiratory/sleep physiologists and a dedicated sleep admin team.
How to access the service
Patients can access the sleep service via a GP or consultant referral.
Opening Hours
The Sleep Service is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. The sleep admin team is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
