What the service does
The Trauma Resource Centre provides treatment for adults who have been affected by the Troubles. It offers the following:
Counselling
You can talk with a professionally trained trauma counsellor about the impact the event(s) may be having on your life. Counselling sessions usually last an hour and take place each week at the start of therapy.
Occupational therapy
You get an opportunity to assess your quality of life and the negative impact trauma may have on your ability to cope. An occupational therapist will set up a programme that meets your individual needs. The aim is to improve your sense of wellbeing.
Physiotherapy
This will help you understand the physical impact of trauma on your body. It may provide insight on unexplained pains and aches and show you practical ways of coping with your symptoms.
