This service provides emergency Mental health assessment for people urgently referred either by their GP or from the Emergency Department at the Mater Hospital or Royal Victoria Hospital.
It also provides Emergency assessment to people who are referred by the police following arrest, and are still in custody in a Belfast Police Station.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and is able to provide assessment the day the person is referred.
How to access the Service
Referrals to this service are only accepted from GPs, Emergency Department healthcare professionals or the PSNI (Custody Suite). It is available to Adults 18 to 65 years old who require an Emergency Mental Health Assessment.
GP referrals can be made from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday via One Point Of Referral.
The Emergency Duty team is available at all other times for urgent and emergency referrals.

Clients referred to the service are assessed in Emergency Departments at:
Urgent GP Referrals are assessed at Woodstock Lodge and at Fairview on the Mater Hospital site.
