MMR vaccine

The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps and rubella (German measles). MMR has three separate vaccines in one injection.

A vaccination campaign aimed at curbing the growing threat of measles has been announced by the Public Health Agency (PHA).

Missed vaccines

For anyone aged 12 months up to and including 25 years old, who hasn’t had one or both doses of MMR, catch-up vaccination is available until 31 March 2024.

Those who have never received any doses of MMR vaccine should book early to allow one month between dose one and dose two before the end of March.

Where to get the MMR vaccine

Children aged 12 months up to and including five years old

Children aged between 12 months and 5 years of age can get the vaccine through their GP practice.
