What the service does
The Integrated Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (ICATS) helps orthopaedic patients get the most appropriate treatment, care and support.
ICATS combines expertise from a range of clinical disciplines. The team ensures you only get referred to a consultant surgeon if you need surgery.
ICATS manages approximately 7,000 new orthopaedic outpatients per year and 17,000 reviews and treatments.
Over 75 per cent of referrals received by ICATS are managed and discharged. This reduces the waiting time for people who need to see an orthopaedic consultant.
