We welcome feedback and suggestions!
Belfast Trust Laboratories works hard to make sure we are providing the best possible service. In order to meet our users’ needs we must first understand what those needs are, and our program of user surveys is one way to help do exactly that.
How often are surveys conducted?
Belfast Trust Laboratories (BTL) aims to issue a survey to its users every few months and a BTL-wide Survey every 2 years. This schedule aims to strikes a good balance between getting regular, real-time feedback from you, and not asking for too much of your time too often.
Why take part in the Survey?
Your feedback is essential to help Belfast Trust Laboratories provide the best service we can. We promise to read every survey response received. We use your answers to help influence our service, practice and future plans. The more responses we receive, the more opportunity we have to learn about how satisfied you are with our services, what we do well and what we can do to improve.
Is the survey anonymous?
Yes. You can complete a survey anonymously or you can provide contact details should you wish to be contacted.
What happens after a survey is done?
- After a survey closes all answers are collated and carefully analysed.
- A summary of the survey findings is then created, along with an action plan.
- We prioritise what’s most important & decide what will be done, by whom & by when.
- Each area will make time to review & follow up to ensure we are completing the tasks we’ve committed to.
This in turn, should result in meaningful improvements for everyone. Sometimes it will be useful to liaise with users or other areas of the trust to make sure we find the correct solutions.
Post-survey feedback to users (and staff) can be done in a variety of ways, for example, via a summary for users published in this section of the website or individually for those who requested direct feedback when completing the survey.

Can users give feedback in other ways?
Yes of course! You don’t have to wait for one of our surveys to tell us about something we are doing well or something we could improve. Guidance on how to give general or specific feedback about a certain service or laboratory can be found in the BTL user manual. Similarly, if you have question or concern don’t be afraid to contact us!
