New Chief Executive for Belfast Trust

Martin DillonPeter McNaney, Chairman of Belfast Trust, today announced the appointment of Mr. Martin Dillon as permanent Chief Executive effective from Wednesday 8 February 2017.

Following the completion of the recent public competition for the post, Peter McNaney said, ‘I am delighted to be in a position to welcome Martin Dillon’s appointment. Martin has worked in Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland in a variety of challenging roles for the last 30 years. He joined Belfast Trust in 2010 as Director of Finance, became Deputy Chief Executive in 2014 and has worked closely with Dr Michael McBride and Trust staff in developing our collective leadership strategy.’

Mr. McNaney continued, ‘Since December 2014 Dr Michael McBride has led the Trust with great skill and on behalf of the Board we wish to express our sincere appreciation to him. His hard work and leadership have ensured Belfast Trust is in a position to play its full part in delivering Minister O’Neill’s vision for the future of Health and Social Care.

He continued, ‘I have every confidence that Mr. Dillon will be a tremendous appointment for this Trust, its staff, and for the people we serve. His commitment, insight, capabilities, and strategic experience make him a great choice for the job and I am greatly looking forward to working with him.’
