Belfast Trust Fostering Service has celebrated the launch of Foster Care Fortnight 2018 with a Family Fun Day at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park.
The wider fostering family including foster carers, looked after children and birth children came together with Fostering Service staff and their own families to mark the beginning of this important period in the fostering calendar.
Beverley Ringland, senior social worker, who organised the fun day, said: “Foster Care Fortnight is an annual occasion to celebrate all that is good about fostering. Our foster carers play a wonderful role in providing looked after children throughout the Belfast Trust area with the best possible opportunities. Our fun day is a chance for everyone to get together outside of the social work setting and simply enjoy themselves!
“It is also a time to remind people that we are constantly recruiting foster carers. So if you have ever considered fostering then please ‘Don’t rule yourself out’ but instead give us a call on 028 9504 0057 – we would be delighted to answer any questions you might have”.
