15th January 2021
Following the revision of the Regional Principles for Visiting Guidance by the Department of Health on 13 January 2021, we are required to make changes to our visiting arrangements from 15 January 2021.
These changes are required to protect patients, their families and all staff.
We are now asking the public not to arrange any meetings with patients in any public areas or dining areas on our hospital sites. We would ask you to respect this request; otherwise, we will need to close our canteens to all visitors. This would impact on those visitors who are coming to the hospital under special circumstances and may need to avail of refreshments.
We recognise that these changes will be difficult and you may feel anxious while your loved one is in hospital. However, we ask that you continue to work with us at this time in our collective efforts to keep everyone safe.
Important guidelines currently in place will also remain.
Anyone showing or experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 or any other infection should not visit, even if these symptoms are mild and unconfirmed. In these circumstances, you should remain at home and follow the latest public health advice on self-isolation and testing.
All people visiting or attending Health and Social Care settings will be required to wear face coverings for the foreseeable future. Children under the age of 13 are exempt from wearing face coverings.
Our Patient Liaison service is available between 9am and 8pm. This service is supported by a registered nurse and is dedicated to supporting you with any enquiry about your loved one. Patient Liaison can be reached by dialling 028 9024 0503.
