Belfast Trust is experiencing severe pressure on beds due to rising numbers of Covid patients. It is critical that we discharge patients as soon as it is safe to do so.
We are requesting that you work with our medical and nursing teams so that when you are asked to leave hospital you do so. Therefore we are appealing to you and your families for your help to release as many hospital beds so that we can continue to accept new admissions.
Once your current care and treatment is complete and your Consultant has determined that you no longer need the care of our acute hospital team, we will ask you to leave hospital. We are committed to identifying the right community support and residential or nursing home placement for you. However, you will not have a choice to stay in hospital. If your community support or placement is not available we will ask you and your family to explore alternative options with us.
