The RCN NI Nurse of the Year Awards highlight the excellence within nursing in Northern Ireland, with Belfast Trust Nurses named winners.
The awards ceremony took place on Thursday 15th June 2023 at the Culloden Hotel. The awards provided an opportunity to celebrate excellence in nursing in Northern Ireland and the contribution that nursing staff make to the health and wellbeing of the people of NI.
Belfast Trust nurses picked up seven awards, with two runners up. They are:
- Barbara Johnston, Patient Choice Award
- Julie Baxter, Learning in Practice Award
- Helen Mason, Team Manager Award – Runners Up: Lisa Spence and Anne Baird
- Sarah Richmond, CMO Rising Star
- Tanya Zuliani and Jane Ferguson, Public Health Award
- Grace McAleer, Student Award
Brenda Creaney, Executive Director of Nursing and User Experience at Belfast Trust, said she is immensely proud of the Belfast Trust staff who took home RCN Nursing Awards this year and the very worthy runners up.
“Our nursing staff are dedicated to the care of our patients and service users. They continue to deliver high quality, innovative care and demonstrate leadership in the face of sustained pressure on our nursing teams.
