Queen’s University Belfast Dental School is offering free dental treatment carried out by dental students.
This service is for adults (18+) who require routine treatment such as fillings, simple gum treatment, root canal work or dentures. The service is unable to offer dental implants, aesthetic treatments, tooth whitening or orthodontics (braces).
The service is no longer taking applications.
All interested patients will be assessed by one of our dentists for their suitability for dental student care. All treatment will be carried out at the School of Dentistry, Royal Victoria Hospital, by dental students under the direct supervision of qualified dentists.
Student treatment will require more and longer appointments (2-3 hours) than you may have experienced with a dentist in general dental practice.
To make use of the service patients must be available to attend multiple daytime appointments.
Treatment is only available in term time, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and all treatment is free of charge.
