The Patient Experience Team are encouraging patients and service users to share their stories to help shape future health and social care services using the online platform Care Opinion.

Feedback February is an initiative to help remind patients, service users and their family members that sharing their experiences can improve services for everyone.

Care Opinion is a place where you can share your experience of health or care services, and help make them better for everyone. Care Opinion make it safe and simple to share your story online and see other people’s stories too. You can see how stories are leading to change. Using Care Opinion means that by sharing honest experiences of care, we learn to see what matters to the individuals we care for. Working together, we can all help make care better.

Brona Shaw, Deputy Director of Nursing, explains: “Since we launched our collaboration with Care Opinion we have received 2000 stories from our service users and their families and we really value their feedback.

“Feedback February is a great reminder that we love your feedback. This year we are celebrating the staff who have been mentioned in the patient feedback we have received on Care Opinion. In September Last year we began to acknowledge the staff with acknowledgement certificates with over 400 given out so far.

“All the feedback we receive is valuable to help us improve services, but it also reminds the staff of the excellent care they’re providing each day across all our services. I’m grateful to everyone who has taken time out of their day to go online and share their story with us.

“Care Opinion is a safe and simple online platform for patients and service users to share their story direct with Belfast Trust. Simply visit and submit your story. This feedback will be shared directly with the relevant team and you’ll receive a reply from our staff”.
