20th August 2024

We are seeking parents and babies to take part in the Roots of Empathy programme in primary schools across Belfast.

Roots of Empathy is an award winning programme which involves a parent and baby partnering with a primary school class to teach the children about the baby’s needs and development.  It helps children to understand other people’s feelings and be more caring and considerate to others.  The schools that take part say the programme helps to reduce levels of bullying and aggression in the classroom.

Can you and your baby help a local school become a more respectful and caring place for children to learn? We’re looking for babies born between June – September 2024 to take part in this year’s programmes.

Submissions of interest for this year are now closed.

For more information on the programme and what’s involved, see: www.rootsofempathy.org/family

Please note we cannot guarantee that you and your baby will be matched with a school as this depends on the number of schools looking for babies and the number of families who apply.  Thanks for your understanding.
