The Belfast Trust Regional Amputee Rehabilitation Service Team have organised the first ever sports, crafts and drama event for all children in Northern Ireland with upper and lower limb absence.

Children had the opportunity to try different sports, crafts, water-based activities and make new friends. Everything from wheelchair basketball. archery, golf and cycling was on offer for the children and young people and it was a very successful day.

Lorraine Graham, consultant with the service said:

“It is such a pleasure to be able to provide a day like this for children and young people with limb difference. A limb difference doesn’t mean you can’t try new things like sport or craft. Everything is possible for you. To watch the delight in the faces of these little ones was such a joy as it was clear they were enjoying all of the events. I want to thank all of my team, the parents and the children, for making this such a memorable day for everyone.

We have organised a similar event for adults too and they are always very well received, and as we look to the future we hope to have more events like this. ”
