Carer Week 2025
The focus for Carers Week, the 9th to 15th of June 2025, is ‘Caring about Equality’. We have scheduled a week-long, varied programme of activities, to highlight the vital role carers play in our communities and draw attention to just how important caring is.
We encourage you to waste no time, have a look through the events and book an opportunity that appeals to you. Places are limited so get back to us quickly to attend the activity of your choice.
The Carer Support Service, provides a range of information and support for carers. This includes:
- Regular information through our Carers Register
- A monthly activity programme which includes a range of emotional, physical, practical and social support activities
- Recognition of the role of Carers with our Carer ID Card

everyone’s words are meaningful and everyone’s words matterOn this course which is created and facilitated by a professional writer, we reflect on how words affect us, how we use them and how they can help us to explain ourselves to ourselves. Through the shared reading and discussion of a poem or short piece of prose, we look at how writing can capture a mood, feeling or memory. We then encourage participants to do their own writing, often based on ideas from the poem or prose. And finally, we listen to what participants have written, if they want to share, and tease out how writing can produce enlightening new insights, and change the way we think about ourselves and each other.
This is a 4 week course starting on Thursday 5th June.
